Frequently asked questions

Short answers, by role. Each one links to the full guide where there is one.

For Parents

Your school office sends you an invitation by email. We recommend downloading the Inscriti app first at jfeld.link/inscriti-download. Then tap Accept invitation in the email — if you have the app it opens there, otherwise it opens the web. Go through the short setup (name, phone, terms, password), verify your email, and you're signed in and linked to your school. See the Getting Started guide.

Check your spam or junk folder first. Then contact your school office and ask them to send it again — and make sure they have the right email on file. Invitations do expire, so if yours is old, ask for a fresh one.

Tap Forgot password? on the sign-in screen. Type your email, then check your inbox for a 6-digit reset code.

Your school needs to link your account to your child. Contact the school office and make sure you signed in with the same email they have on file.

Tap Messages → the + button → search your teacher's name and tap to select them. Or open your child's profile and tap the message icon next to their teacher's name.

Yes — open the menu, tap Account → Notification Settings, and turn on Push Notifications. Make sure your phone's own settings also allow Inscriti to send notifications.

Yes. On My Children, tap Early Sign-Out, choose your child and who's picking them up, and tap Notify school. This sends a request — office staff still complete the sign-out in person.

For Teachers

Tap the Home tab, tap the + button, write your message, choose the audience (Whole School or Classes), and tap Post Now.

Open your class and tap Attendance. Mark each student Present, Late, Absent, or Excused (or tap Mark remaining as Present), then tap Save Attendance. Classes set up for QR check-in instead let parents and students scan a code to check themselves in and out.

Yes. Write your post, open the Scheduling tab, turn on Schedule this post, pick a date and time, and tap Schedule Post.

While writing a post, tap Add Photos, Add Video, or Add File and choose from your device. A post can have up to 10 attachments in total.

Tap Messages → the + button → search the family's or parent's name and tap to select them. You can message families of students in your current classes.

Yes — open the post, tap the More icon (⋯), tap Edit, make your changes, and tap Save Changes. You (if you posted it) or staff with the Posts permission can edit any post.

For Admins

Open School Management and fill in your school's name, address, timezone, color, and logo on the Profile tab. Then create your current school year. See the Launch Guide for the full playbook.

Tap Staff+, enter their name and email, and tap Add Staff Member. Everyone added this way starts as staff — there's no separate role to choose. To also give someone admin access, use Edit → Administrative access on their profile.

Open the student's profile, open the Family tab, and tap Invite. Enter the parent's email address and tap Send Invitation — they'll get an email to set up their account.

In School Management → Profile, set your primary color and upload your logos, then save with the checkmark. Turn features on or off from the Features tab, and add fields your school tracks from Custom Fields.

Yes. Go to School Management → Custom Fields and add any fields your school tracks — allergies, bus number, medical notes, etc. — as Text, Number, Date, or Yes/No fields.

In School Management → School Years, find the past year under Promotion / Rollover and tap Promote Students. This moves that year's whole roster into the currently active year — there's no per-class or per-student picker.

Yes. Open Reports & Insights, run the Student roster report under People & families, and tap Export CSV or Export PDF.

Privacy & Security

Posts can go to the Whole School or to one or more Classes — there's no single-student audience. Only people in that audience can see the post.

Yes. Inscriti uses industry-standard encryption and role-based permissions. Students, parents, teachers, and admins only see what they're supposed to see.

Yes. Open the menu, tap Account → Account & Data, and tap Request account deletion. It's a request, not instant — your sign-in access is removed or de-identified, typically within 30 days, with a confirmation email when it's done. Some student, attendance, message, or audit records may need to stay with the school for safety or legal reasons. You can also email privacy@inscriti.com instead.

Open the post or comment, tap the More icon (⋯), tap Report, choose a reason, and submit. A school admin will review it.

There's no self-serve export button in the app today. To get a copy of your information, contact your school admin or email privacy@inscriti.com.
