See all classes
Tap the Classes tab. Current classes for your active school year appear first, with an Archived Classes section below.
Open a class
Tap a class card. The Feed tab shows the class's posts. Staff and admins also see a People tab with the roster and teachers — parents, students, and followers see the feed only.
See who's in a class (staff only)
- Open the class.
- Tap People.
- See the Teachers section and the Students section, each with a count.
The People tab is only visible to staff and admins — not to parents, students, or class followers.
Create a class
Admins and staff with the Classes permission can create classes. You'll need an active school year — the class is created in it automatically, there's no year picker.
- Tap the Classes tab.
- Tap the + button.
- Type the Class Name and Age Group — both are required.
- (Optional) Pick Teachers from the list.
- Tap Create Class.
Set the class's color, icon, photo, and attendance format afterward from Edit Class.
Edit a class
- Open the class.
- Tap the pencil icon.
- Update the Class Name, Grade / Age Group, School Year, Appearance (color, icon, photo), or Attendance Format.
- Tap Save Changes.
Teachers aren't assigned from here — manage them from the class's People tab instead. Admins and staff with the Classes permission only.
Change the color of a class
- Open the class and tap the pencil icon.
- Under Appearance, tap a color swatch, or type a hex code (for example
#4F46E5). - Tap Save Changes.
Assign a teacher to a class
- Open the class and tap People.
- Tap the pencil icon to enter edit mode.
- Next to Teachers, tap Add.
- Pick a teacher from the list.
Admins and staff with the Classes permission only.
Remove a teacher from a class
- Open the class and tap People.
- Tap the pencil icon to enter edit mode.
- Tap the remove icon next to the teacher.
- Confirm.
Add students to a class
- Open the class and tap People.
- Tap the pencil icon to enter edit mode.
- Next to Students, tap Add.
- Search and tap Add next to each student.
Only active students at the school who aren't already on this class's roster show up in the list.
Remove a student from a class
- Open the class and tap People.
- Tap the pencil icon to enter edit mode.
- Tap the remove icon next to the student.
- Confirm.
Reorder classes
Reordering applies for every user at your school.
- Tap the Classes tab.
- Next to Current Classes — or an archived school year — tap the sort icon. It only appears when that group has 2 or more classes.
- Drag classes into the order you want.
- Tap Save Order.
Current classes and each archived school year are sorted separately. Use Reset to A-Z to go back to alphabetical order.
Archive a class
Archived classes are hidden from the main list but kept in your records.
- Open the class and tap the pencil icon.
- Scroll to Class Lifecycle and tap Archive Class.
- Confirm.
Admins and staff with the Classes permission only.
Restore an archived class
Archived classes already appear in their own Archived Classes section on the Classes tab — there's no separate view to switch to.
- Tap the Classes tab and scroll to Archived Classes.
- Find the class and tap Restore — or open it, tap the pencil icon, and tap Restore Class under Class Lifecycle.
Only a class whose school year matches the school's current active school year can be restored.
Delete a class
Deletion is permanent and removes roster history, attendance, and class-post links. Most schools use Archive Class instead.
- Open the class and tap the pencil icon.
- Scroll to Class Lifecycle and tap Delete Class Permanently.
- Confirm.
Admins and staff with the Classes permission only.
Post just to one class
When writing the post, choose Classes as the audience and select that one class.
Set a class's attendance format
Every class uses one of two check-in formats, set from Edit Class → Attendance Format:
- Format A — Register: mark present / absent from a teacher roster.
- Format B — QR Check-In: parents and students scan a QR code to check in and out.
Admins and staff with the Classes permission only.
